Medical travel, coordinated
PPEV Medical Tours helps patients across the African continent reach trusted specialists and hospitals in South Africa — and takes care of the journey around the treatment.
A single point of contact for your medical treatment and your travel.
What PPEV does
Travelling for treatment raises dozens of questions at once — which specialist, which hospital, how to get a quotation, how to arrange a visa, where to stay. PPEV brings those threads together. We help you reach appropriate specialists and healthcare facilities in South Africa, and we coordinate the practical side of getting there and home again.
Guidance on the specialist and facility appropriate for your condition.
Requesting options from partner hospitals and doctors, and keeping appointments in order.
Visa logistics, flights, accommodation and airport transfers, arranged around your dates.
Specialist areas
PPEV assists patients seeking treatment and specialist opinions in areas including these.
PPEV Medical Tours facilitates access to independent, registered specialists and accredited facilities. Hospital and surgical treatment is provided by those facilities, not by PPEV.
How it works
You contact PPEV by email or WhatsApp and tell us what treatment you need. We request quotations from partner hospitals and doctors based on your requirements.
PPEV facilitates at least three quotations from partner hospitals so you can compare. Payment can be arranged directly or through medical insurance.
Where required, we assist with:
After treatment, PPEV assists with follow-up appointments once you are back home.

Our Medical Director
Founder & Medical Director · Specialist General Surgeon
PPEV Medical Tours grew out of Dr Chamisa’s wish to help patients — particularly those travelling from other African countries — navigate the process of obtaining medical treatment in South Africa. He has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare across the African continent, with training and practice in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Scotland, England and Wales. He runs a private surgical practice in Pretoria.
Our team
When you ask PPEV for help, a case officer is assigned to your enquiry as your point of contact.

Medical prescriptions
Obtaining medication in South Africa can be difficult when your prescription was issued in another country, and families often need to buy chronic medication here for relatives abroad. Through our founding director, Dr Inchien Chamisa — a specialist surgeon and registered medical practitioner — PPEV can assist with prescription requirements where clinically appropriate.
Our network
PPEV works to connect patients with accredited private hospitals and independent specialists across South Africa’s major private healthcare groups, choosing the setting that fits each patient’s condition, location and budget.
PPEV Medical Tours is an independent facilitator. It is not owned by, affiliated with, or endorsed by any hospital group, and it does not receive payment from patients for treatment itself.
Common questions
PPEV is a medical travel facilitation and coordination service. We help you identify appropriate specialists and facilities, request options and quotations on your behalf, and coordinate the travel logistics around treatment. The medical care itself is provided by independent, registered professionals and accredited facilities.
Getting in touch and telling us what you need is free and carries no obligation. The cost of treatment, flights, accommodation and other services depends entirely on your situation. PPEV will be clear with you about what any assistance involves before you commit to anything.
No. Please do not upload medical records through the website forms. Once a case officer understands your situation, they will guide you through a secure way to share any documents a facility needs to review.
Where a medical visa is required, PPEV can assist with the logistics of the application. Visa decisions are made by the relevant authorities, not by PPEV.
PPEV can help arrange follow-up appointments and continue coordinating with the treating team after you return home, where that is required.
PPEV focuses on assisting patients from across the African continent who are seeking medical and surgical treatment in South Africa.
